Our History

Building Disciples Rescuing the perishing

Cornerstone Vision came to being as a sub-set of the revelation/vision of Sunday June 25, 1989. Precisely, the revelation came in form of a trance on the Sunday afternoon after church service. The details comprise of the called, the purpose and the future of the called in ministry.

The Genesis……

Ten years after the revelation, precisely September 1, 1999, the convener had encounter with God in his morning devotion where he was reminded of the vision given over 10 years then. He was warned that if he die with the dream, he will dearly pay for it. The encounter was centered on missions – “Vision gives birth to Mission, the Lord affirmed”. He said the ministry of CVM should be a platform for them to work after leaving school. The fire was rekindled and the Lord set the work in motion. Preliminary work was done and various consultation were made to fulfill the clarion call. Counsels were sort but the substance of the revelation kept ringing and burning in the heart of the convener.

CVM was brought forth because the vision is larger than other existing platforms to which the convener had belong. This was majorly adduced to constraints and limitations of doctrines but not without cordial and mutual relationship with these bodies to partner for the cause of the Kingdom on the face of the earth. This mindset, under God’s direction led to the formation of a ministry in line with God’s instruction but not leaving the people that we were together.  A good number of them shared the vision and joined in the establishment of CVM. We had challenges registering the name under Corporate Affairs Commission because some other ministries have used the name. The initial name given to the ministry was Christ Vision International but at the point of incorporation

we changed it to Christ Voice Ministry because a ministry has been registered in that name. The name was later changed it to Christ Vision Ministry. Some other ministries have already been registered in that name so we couldn’t actually register the name Christ Vision Ministry but in the course of praying the Lord gave me the name Cornerstone Vision Ministry. Even when we wanted to register the name Cornerstone Vision Ministry they said it existed somewhere so we had to make it Cornerstone Interdenominational Vision Ministry. But our acronym CVM that we have been maintaining since when we were using Christ Vision Ministry and Christ Voice Ministry is still what we call today CVM. All these happened between 2004 and 2007.

CVM’s future plans and repositioning…

CVM is an interdenominational ministry, a global ministry. We are moving into another phase of the ministry by the grace of God. We have restructured the ministry to capture our local and international vision; we are going to move beyond where we are. We need to actually develop our template, the world is growing global on daily basis, and we need to improve our infrastructure and technology to actually ensure we reach our targets. Ministries are going on virtual meetings now, we are looking at having live streaming of our retreats so we can minister to people and touch lives everywhere. By the grace of God we are looking at breaking into our international ministry. We want to move beyond the shores of Nigeria and we can’t achieve that except we have effective structure in place. The restructuring will be in phases, our next phase of restructuring is the board of Trustees. We need to strategically bring some innovation into our operations and our programmes as we have restructured our force along the line of our vision.

We are also looking at taking advantage of all available means to reach the unreached. This we will do by the grace of God in the shortest possible time.
